Depending on the size of the stove, you’ll start with twigs about the size of your pinky finger and work your way up to thumb sized and larger. You’ll be amazed how little wood these things use to cook a full meal!

Oiling your steel rocket stove with a quality finishing oil such as boiled linseed oil is our favorite way of protecting steel fire appliances from rusting. Applying the oil is easy and it only needs to be done a few times per year to keep your firepit looking great!
High temp paint is another easy to apply and reapply solution, that can be used as needed to keep your firepit looking fresh.
Ceramic coating is the most durable option and will last many years.
If you can’t stand the thought of rust ever developing, we offer a solution for that too.
Yes! We offer high grade stainless steel as an option for those who prefer it. The stainless steel will change colour, with golden to bluish colours appearing from the heat of the fire, but will never “rust” like steel does.
Typically, 1-2 weeks for most new custom rocket stove builds. We also do our best to keep our portable rocket stoves in stock for immediate purchase.
